FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 3, 2006 DR MC “CUB” CULBERTSON NAMED DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE AT CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER HARTFORD, Conn.—MC “Cub” Culbertson, III, MD, FAAP, FACEP, of Hartford, has joined Connecticut Children’s Medical Center as the new medical director of the Emergency Department. He also serves as the director of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the CCMC Medical Staff, and head of the Division of Emergency Medicine of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Culbertson most recently served as interim medical director of the Emergency Department at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas where he had been an attending physician for 17 years. Dallas Children’s is one of the busiest emergency departments in the nation , with about 80,000 visits annually, roughly twice the number of CCMC’s ED. Dr. Culbertson received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he also completed his pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Culbertson is board-certified in pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine and emergency medicine.
