FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Feb. 22, 2007 "Dr. Kelsey Logan Joins Connecticut Children’s Medical Center’s Sports Medicine Program" HARTFORD, Conn— Sports medicine physician Kelsey Logan, MD, FAAP, of West Hartford, has joined Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and its Elite Sports Medicine program.Dr. Logan comes to CCMC from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics where she completed a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine. She also served as a clinical instructor with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Logan received her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala, and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Logan completed her internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center She is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics and sports medicine. Some of Dr. Logan’s clinical research includes studying hypertension in college athletes and if pre-participation physical blood pressure exams identify athletes at risk. She also studied the effect of external stimuli on the enjoyment of aerobic exercise. Dr. Logan is a member and serves on committees of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine. |
