In conjunction with National Cancer Survivors Day on June 1, 2008, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center’s Division of Hematology/Oncology hosted a celebration for children who are currently undergoing treatment for cancer and for those who have completed treatment. Thanks to our Event Sponsors, Cycle of Life was a free event and all pediatric cancer survivors (moment of diagnosis throughout one’s life) and their families were most welcome. Cycle of Life was held at the Riverfront Plaza in Hartford from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and featured a carnival-like atmosphere with interactive games, activities, food, prizes, and entertainment as well as tricycle and bicycle exercise challenges. All proceeds from Cycle of Life will benefit the REACH for the STARS Survivorship Program.
