The Physician Liaison
The Physician Liaison provides physicians in the community with a one-call, 24-hour, single point of entry to obtain information about all of CCMC’s programs. It can assist physicians to triage patients, to make referrals, to channel professional feedback, or to solve communications problems.

Rapid Report
The Physician Liaison issues a faxed Rapid Report to notify external attending pediatricians when their patients are admitted to specialty inpatient services at CCMC. Selected ambulatory services may also utilize the Rapid Report to communicate information about a patient’s initial visit.

The Mini-Fellowship
This flexible, multi-day program is intended for primary care pediatricians seeking a hospital experience to update their knowledge and refresh their skills. Learning objectives for each session will be pre-distributed to the enrolled fellows. The fellow will be actively involved in planning his/her own schedule of visits, target activities and learning objectives. Attending physicians will facilitate observation and limited participation in a variety of patient care activities in a children's hospital setting.

Office Emergency Preparedness Program
In conjunction with the CCMC Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care, this program provides the pediatric office with tools to assess and improve its ability to deal with emergencies which may require resuscitation or stabilizing measures.

C.C.’s Suitcase Program
C.C.’s Suitcase Program is a community outreach initiative designed to promote children’s understanding of hospitals, to alleviate anxieties about medical experiences, and to reinforce the importance of having a heathy attitude towards one’s body. The 30 to 45 minute school and daycare based presentation, lead by Virginia Spencer, travelling CCMC Child Life Specialist, engages child participants in a variety of activities including hands-on learning through interaction with C.C., the anatomically correct ZaddieÓ doll. For further information, contact Virginia Spencer at (860) 545.9081. C.C.'s Suitcase Program is sponsored by the Fleet Center for Children’s Healthy Community Initiatives.
