Why is follow-up important?
- The clinic appointments are important for asthma
control.
- We want your child to STAY WELL.
- If your child is not well, then your child is not on
the right asthma medicine.
- The doctor makes sure your child is using his
medicines correctly, and fixes any bad habits.
- When there is a season change, medicines may need to
be changed to keep asthma under control.
- Follow-up appointments are a chance to ask questions
to the doctor.
- Follow-up appointments are the responsibility of the
caregiver.
Going Back to School
- If the child's asthma is under good control, then
the child should go to school.
- If the child cannot go to school, then the family
should call the doctor.
- Check to see if the child needs medicines at school.
- Does the school have the medicines? If not, notify
the primary care provider.
